The Hub Motor on EVT electric scooters is a patented electric brushed motor that is part of the actual rear wheel. This means that one half of the motor (the coil side) rotates with the wheel, while the other half (the magnet side) is fixed to the axle. The only things that wears out and need regular maintenance are the motor brushes. These are cheap and easy to replace. Nothing else moves on the electric scooter apart from the brakes and the twist of the throttle. Because there is no gear box or chain, energy efficiency is not lost through the drive train, noise is reduced, and there are no moving parts, apart from the motor and brakes, to maintain or repair. The motor for the electric scooter is specially designed and installed inside the wheel. This direct driven hub motor, the first of its kind to be introduced offers a number of advantages including a greater degree of efficiency that reduces the overall cost of running (EVT scooters have no belts and no manual gears).

Magnet driven with very little friction. Hub motor comes already mounted on the wheel. No maintenance is required on any of the hub motors. There are no belts, chains, sprockets, gears, or pulleys. The wheel is directly connected to the electric motor. While a conventional motor is mounted by its case allowing the axle to spin, these hub motors are mounted by their axle, allowing the case to spin. Directly coupling the motor to the wheel means there are no losses in the transmission of power to the wheel. It is direct drive, as quiet and efficient as it gets. However if you just use your motor to help you along you will should expect to receive upwards of 20 miles on a charge. The electric motor is also able to produce greater torque at both low and high speeds than regular scooters.
